If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably had the thought: “Who THE HELL am I to make a difference?”

Truthfully, this project took over a year to launch because that question lived in my head every single day. The thought of pouring so much time, energy, money, and heart into something that could ultimately flop was terrifying.

I overanalyzed every little detail you can think of. I had no idea how to build a website. I had no idea how to start a donation-based nonprofit. I rewrote the words on these pages more times than I can count, and I feared what people would think. There were moments I felt excited and moments I felt completely overwhelmed, and there were plenty of moments when I thought about giving up altogether. But I’ve learned that the fear of failing is a much smaller burden to carry than the regret of never trying at all.

I’m just one person. One business. One schedule that’s already too full. One bank account that doesn’t exactly have unlimited resources.

For a long time, I thought making a meaningful impact was reserved for people with bigger platforms, bigger teams, and bigger budgets. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized something: every organization, movement, fundraiser, and act of change started because someone decided to use what they already had. Not what they wished they had. What they had.

That’s how 405 For Her was born. Not from having all the answers, but from asking, “What can I do with the gifts I’ve been given?”

Maybe you’re a photographer.

405 For Her isn’t built on the belief that one person can change the entire world. It’s built on the belief that one person can change someone’s world.

The goal was never to change the world overnight. The goal was simply to start. And if enough of us decide to use our small corner of the world to help someone else, those small acts become something much bigger.
